How it is made

A board that looks like your salon, not a template

You are the designer. You say what you want in your own words: the colours, your name across the top, what goes where. AI designs the finished board in about two minutes. Not quite right? Say what to change and it is drawn again. There is no design software to learn, and nobody else trying to guess what is in your head.

Describe it the way you would describe your salon: “Soft pink and gold, our name in a script at the top, hair on the left, beauty on the right.” Or “Black and white, straight lines, cuts and beard trims, clean and simple.” Show it a photo of a look you like, if that is easier. Type your treatments and prices, or take a photo of the list you have. About two minutes later the finished board is on your phone.

Putting it up

Any screen, by the door or by the mirror

A smart screen runs it in its own web browser; any other screen takes a Fire TV Stick in the HDMI socket, and our free app is in the Fire TV store. Hang the screen tall beside the door or the mirror, and the board is drawn tall. On a Fire TV you search it for counterboard; on any other screen you open counterboard.com/player on it. Either way the screen shows six letters, you type them into your phone, and your price list is up. The whole job, step by step, is in how to put your menu on a screen.

What it costs

Priced by how many screens you put up

One screen free, for as long as you like, with a small counterboard.com band on the board, and no card. Without the band, so much a screen: £14 a month for one screen, and £7 for each screen after it. No VAT charged. The price list on the front page shows it in dollars and euros too.

Every screen gets the same dashboard and the same boards; what changes with the price is how many screens you put up and how many credits come with them. Each screen gets a board drawn for it, free. After that everything we draw is credits, and a credit is a pound: a price change is one, a new look or an item added, taken off or renamed is two, a whole new board is three. Each paid screen includes two credits a month, and they start again on the 1st; more can be bought inside Counterboard, ten for £9 or more in a bigger pack, with no change to your plan. No contract: cancel any time.

Does it work for a tattoo studio, a groomer or a gym?

Yes. Anything with a price list on the wall: tattoo studios, dog groomers, gyms, car washes, laundrettes and more.

I already have a price list design I like. Can I use it?

Yes. Show it a photo of the look you like and the new board is drawn in that style, or put your own picture up as the board exactly as it is.

We have two rooms. Can each have its own screen?

Yes. Each screen can show the same board or a different one, and the price goes by how many screens you put up.
